Poké Lid Journey
A Poké Lid — "Pokéfuta" in Japanese — is a manhole cover with Pokémon on it.
No two are alike: each design exists on just one cover in the world. The Pokémon Company donates them to towns and cities across Japan to showcase both Pokémon and what makes each place special.
There are 482 Poké Lids across 42 prefectures (as of September 16, 2026, counted from the official site).
Hokkaido has the most (50), followed by three prefectures in Tohoku: Fukushima (43), Miyagi (37) and Iwate (36).
Gunma, Yamanashi, Hiroshima, Kumamoto and Oita do not have any yet.
Every Poké Lid appears in Pokémon GO as a PokéStop.
The six prefectures of Tohoku have 128 Poké Lids between them.
We have walked to and filmed 29 of them. Each has a video, and where we have checked the route, you will find the nearest station, parking, and whether you need a car.
