Poké Lid Journey
The only cookie this site uses is the one that keeps you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies are used, which is why there is no consent banner. Browsing without signing in sets no cookies at all.
If you register, we hold the following.
| Email address | Confirming it is you when you sign in, and sending the confirmation email when you reset your password. The address itself is not stored; it is converted into a value used for matching (see “How we handle email addresses” below) |
|---|---|
| Trainer name | Shown on the site (visit list and board), and to trainers you send friend requests to or receive them from |
| Trainer code | Shown on the board, which is what the board is for, and to trainers you have approved as friends. Also matched to find who a friend request is for |
| Password | Signing in. Only a hash is stored — never the password itself |
| Photos you add | Recording and showing your stamps. EXIF data (location, device) is stripped before the file is saved. When you gift a lid, the photo is also shown in the recipient’s stamp book (a copy is made when you gift it, so it stays with them even if you later remove your own stamp). Photos you choose to make public are visible to anyone on that Poké Lid’s page (with your trainer name and the date; the three most recent per lid). You choose this when you add the photo and can change it at any time from your stamp book |
| Photo location | Used only to work out where the photo was taken. Only the result (which lid) is stored |
| Your current location | Asked for only when you press “Narrow it down from where I am”, and only when the photo carries no location of its own. It is used to list the lids in the prefecture you are in, and is not stored. Declining is fine — you can still search the full list |
| Gift records | Who you gave lids to and received them from, which lid, and when. Used to show your stamp book and to keep the limit of 3 people per lid |
| Friend request records | Who you sent requests to and received them from, whether they were approved or deleted, and when. Used to show your friend list and to stop deleted requests from being sent again and again |
| Board post records | A hash of your IP address and your browser details. Used to answer removal requests and disclosure requests, and to investigate abuse. Discarded after six months |
We do not provide any of this to third parties. We do, however, entrust server operation and email delivery to SAKURA internet Inc.
Until September 14, 2026, email addresses were stored as they were entered. They were deleted on September 14, 2026, and any backups that still contain them will be erased automatically by September 28, 2026.
The server keeps access logs, with visitor IP addresses masked before they are written. Error logs, however, record the full IP address, because it is needed to investigate problems. Both are discarded after 14 days.
To protect the server from unauthorized access, connection attempts (including IP addresses) may be recorded in the server's system logs. These are discarded automatically after a period of time.
Each page shows a thumbnail only. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play. From that point the connection goes to youtube-nocookie.com and the YouTube privacy policy applies.
Opening the map page loads map images from OpenStreetMap, so your browser connects to openstreetmap.org while you view it. The map library itself is served from this site, not from a third party.
That map shows only how many people added a photo at each lid. It does not show who added it, or when. Counts include people who have chosen not to appear in the visit list, because a count on its own identifies no one.
You may ask to see, correct, stop the use of, or delete the information we hold about you. Write to the address below. We will confirm it is you, then act on it.
The operator's name and address will be given to you on request, without delay. Use the same address.
This policy will be updated as features are added.
